What a day: You rode your bikes, gave it your all, laughed, and showed just how much courage and energy you have. Congratulations to all the young and older up-and-coming cyclists. No matter how fast you crossed the finish line, you can be really proud of yourselves!

A big thank you also goes to all the families, volunteers, and everyone who cheered you on and made the Kids Challenge possible.

Kids Challenge // 01.08.2026

An action-packed mountain biking afternoon for young cyclists aged 5 to 14 – with a technical course, a cross-country race suitable for children, and lots of fun.

All participants take part in two exciting competitions: first, there is the technical course with six age-appropriate stations – then the cross-country race (route overview) awaits you. 

From 12:00 p.m. // Race number distribution (at the Revier Hotel in St. Gallenkirch)

Please arrive in good time to collect your race number so that you can relax at the starting line.

Our tip: It'sbesttoregister early so that you can take care of everything in advance. If you want to participate spontaneously, you can also register on race day up to 30 minutes before the start.

Entry fees

  • U7, U9, U11: €10.00
  • U13, U15: €15.00
1:00–3:00 p.m. // Technique course (6 stations)

From 1:00 p.m., you can show how well you can control your bike on the technical course. At various stations, it's not just speed that counts, but above all balance, control, and concentration:

  • Slalom between cones
  • Riding on narrow wooden planks
  • Log obstacle – pure nature feeling
  • Eight-shaped course – two-handed & one-handed
  • Ball game – throwing balls into baskets
  • Balance challenge – technique meets fun

Each station earns points – a maximum of 30 is possible. Station supervisors ensure fairness and safety. Their decisions are final.

3:15–6:30 p.m. // Cross-country race

Routes and start times:

  • U7: 3:15 p.m. | "Small" route (approx. 700 meters, 7 min., 20 m elevation gain)
  • U9: 3 :40 p.m. | "Medium" route (approx. 2.4 km, 10 min., 40 m elevation gain)
  • U11: 4 :10 p.m. | "Medium" route (approx. 4.1 km, 20 min., 80 m elevation gain)
  • U13: 4 :45 p.m. | "X-Large" route (approx. 5.7 km, 35 min., 160 m elevation gain)
  • U15: 6:00 p.m. | "X-Large" route (approx. 5.7 km, 30 min., 160 m elevation gain)
  • U17: 18:00 p.m. | „X-Large“ route (approx. 11.4 km, 35 min., 320 m elevation gain)

Please note: Participants will be called 5 minutes before the start – please be ready in good time.

7:00 p.m. // Award ceremony

Grand finale with applause and lots of proud faces. Every child is celebrated – because taking part is everything.

This event is a popular sports competition for children. The focus is on having fun exercising, enjoying cycling, and sharing the experience together.

Packing list

What you need to participate:

To ensure you don't forget anything important, we have prepared a packing list for you:

  • Your own bicycle (‘Biobike’ – no e-bikes): No bike, no adventure.
  • Your helmet: Safety first
  • If you like and have them: You are also welcome to wear protective gear, cycling gloves, and sports glasses – but this is not a must.
  • Your sturdy shoes: So you can ride and run well.
  • As needed: Water bottle, change of shirt, sunscreen, rain jacket, and bike lock (to keep your bike safe).
