As winter slowly fades away and the snowfields glisten in the sun, a very special time begins in the mountains: the off-season. In Gargellen, too, a sense of calm now settles in. After the lively winter months of skiing on fantastic slopes and bustling activity, the village seems almost to be in a gentle slumber.

In the valley, the first signs of spring are emerging. Up on the mountain, things are quieting down. Trail markings are being removed and stored away. The Pistenbullys, which have been working tirelessly all winter, are being serviced and readied for the coming winter. What remains is an almost meditative silence that gives the mountains a new, pristine atmosphere.

But this calm is by no means a standstill—quite the opposite. Behind the scenes, preparations for the summer season are already in full swing. Nature awakens at its own pace: the first flowers push their way through the melting snow, streams carry more water again, and the clear mountain air carries the scent of a new beginning.

One important date has already been set: On June 12, 2026, the Gargellner Bergbahnen will kick off the summer season. Then life will return to the mountains. You can look forward to a wide range of activities—from a cozy mountain breakfast at the Schafberg Hüsli to thrilling mountain cart rides, climbing adventures at lofty heights, and hikes along the impressive Gargellner Schafberg trails.

The summer calendar is once again filling up with special events: from the atmospheric summer solstice celebration“Berge in Flammen”to the10th-anniversarycelebration of“Frauen Berg Gaudi”and cozy morning drinks on the terrace of the Schafberg Hüsli. Added to this are cultural highlights such as the Klangfestival, the traditional Säumerfest, and many other events that make summer in Gargellen lively and diverse.

The off-season is thus a time of change—quiet, unhurried, yet full of movement. Those who consciously experience this phase discover the mountains from a completely different perspective: pristine, peaceful, and full of anticipation for what is to come.
